"Nice style, but the price is hard to swallow"
I do enjoy some of Monocle’s articles, and the whole look and feel is really polished. At first I was thinking the price was maybe worth it for the vibe alone, but actually, the more I sit with it, the harder it is to justify. The magazine is nice and the shop items look great, but a lot of it just feels more expensive than it really should be. For what you’re paying, I expected a bit more depth or at least better value overall. It’s not bad, exactly, I still like parts of it — but the pricing feels a little out of touch. I probably wouldn’t renew unless it starts feeling more reasonable.

"Things sell out a little too quickly for my liking"
I was hoping to pick up two items, but only one was actually in stock. I’m particular about being able to get what I came for, so that was a bit disappointing.

"Takes a bit of patience"
I’ll say first that the site does look nice, and it gives off a decent first impression. I spent a while clicking around and some parts were fine, but after a bit I started noticing the menus felt kind of packed with too much going on. A few pages also took longer to load than I expected, which didn’t help. I was mostly just trying to find some older articles, and after digging around for a while I ended up giving up. It’s not awful or anything, but it can be frustrating to use.

"Wish every payment was this easy"
The payment went through without any trouble at all. No weird delays, no failed charges, nothing. I kind of wish I’d stopped worrying about it sooner because it ended up being really straightforward

I’ve been enjoying the subscription overall, the reads are nice and renewing was quick and easy, which I appreciated since I was kind of rushing through it. The only downside was a small delivery hiccup, but otherwise it’s been a good experience.

"Checkout worked, but I expected it to be smoother"
I ordered from monocle.com and the checkout was mostly fine. The steps were clear enough, and my payment went through without any issues, so I can’t say it was a bad experience.
Still, I was a little disappointed because it felt slower than it should have, and I found myself double-checking a few details before finally placing the order. It got the job done, but it definitely wasn’t the smoothest checkout I’ve used.

Popped into the Monocle store last week and had a nice time. The staff were friendly without hovering around, which I always appreciate. The whole place felt calm and easy to browse. I grabbed a magazine and had a quick nose at some gift stuff too. Prices are def a bit steep for me, but you can tell the quality is there. Would probably stop by again if I’m in the area.

"Good content, but I wish the app felt more reliable"
I really like the content on Monocle and I do enjoy using it, but the mobile app has been a bit unpredictable for me. Sometimes it freezes while I’m scrolling or when I switch between articles, and I end up wondering if it’s going to crash again. It’s not awful, just frustrating enough that I’d feel better if it was more stable. Giving it 3 stars for now, but I’d happily rate it higher if the app gets fixed.

My order arrived really nicely packed, with a clean box and everything arranged neatly inside. Nothing was damaged, and it gave a great first impression. The only thing I’d say is there was maybe a little "too much" packaging for such small items.

I sent it back and then just waited. And waited. The refund took way too long, and every time I reached out to support, I got vague answers. Not very helpful at all.

"Great articles, but the clunky access messed up my plans"
I actually like the content a lot, but getting to it is way more frustrating than it should be. The digital access works most of the time, but the login acts up and the pages can load painfully slow on my phone. I was trying to catch up on a few articles during a quiet morning before heading out, and instead I spent half the time refreshing and signing back in, which ruined my plan to just relax and read. For the price, I just wish the app and site felt smoother and less annoying to use

"Cold vibe, and even simple questions get brushed off"
I wanted to like monocle.com, but it just didn’t feel very welcoming. I asked a basic question when I was trying to get started, and it was basically ignored or met with replies that felt more snarky than helpful. The community seems more focused on sounding clever than actually having a normal conversation. Maybe it works if you already know the culture there, but as a new person it felt cold and frustrating.

I really liked how it looked when I first got it, but after just a few wears it started feeling kind of cheap. It made me realize that a nice appearance doesn’t always mean good quality, and I’d rather spend a bit more on something that lasts

"Kinda hit or miss lately"
Some of the articles are still good tbh, but a lot of them feel kinda rushed now and not as in-depth as they used to be. Idk, just feels like the quality is a bit uneven lately.

"Pretty good support overall"
I had to reach out to Monocle customer service about some delivery thing, and I had a good feeling about how it went. The response wasn’t instant or anything, it took about a day, but it didn’t feel like one of those copy-paste replies. They actually seemed to understand what I was asking and got it sorted. I’m giving 4 stars because I did have to follow up once, which was a little annoying, but after that everything was okay. Overall, not perfect, but I left feeling good enough about it and would use the site again.

"Kind of regretting signing up"
I was excited to use monocle.com, but the login has been a mess for me. Some days I can get in fine, and other times it just keeps failing or looping like it’s stuck. It gets old really fast, especially when I just want to use what I paid for. I’m starting to feel like I jumped in too soon and kind of regret it. Hopefully they fix it soon, because right now I don’t really feel like I can rely on it.
